Petra: Mason Moody's Concert Review
Not of This World tour (second show)
Can't remember the entire set list, but in part consisted of: Stand up; Second Wind; Judas' Kiss; Let Everything that Hath Breath; Not of This World; Bema Seat; Occupy; Not By Sight; Chameleon; Without Him We can Do Nothing; Praise Ye the Lord; God Gave Rock & Roll To You, etc.
This was the first of my 9 Petra shows over 10 years, the only one with Greg X. Volz. We rushed the stage during the opening chords of "Stand Up" and stayed there the entire evening. Bob Hartman even held his guitar out for a kid to strum during a song. Their music, ministry, lights and stage presence blew me away as a 16-year old non-Christian kid. So much so that later that year, I gave my heart to the Lord and even read the lyrics to "Graverobber" at my dad's funeral that summer. For more concert reviews, click here.
Though I saw them 8 more times following during the Beat The System, This Means War!, On Fire!, Beyond Belief, Unseen Power, Wake-Up Call, and Double Take tours and hoped I could see them just one more time to make it 10 times. There's Petra Farewell to watch over and over, but having seen them live so many times, it's still a little disappointing.
